Audi driving school, at Silverstone

My siblings bought me a great birthday present this year.

A day on the "Audi Driving Experience" at Silverstone. I went last Monday, and it was great fun. Had loads of aches and pains the next day.

We paired up, and got to drive an RS4, an S5 and a TT. (There were 5 of each car). There were 24 participants and 3 instructors. One of the instructors was from Sweden, Oscar Svedlund, who is a racing driver and recently won the Swedish rally for Audi.

These were the sessions: -

1 - TT - Timed slalom through cones. About 6 practices, then a timed lap.

2 - S5 - Oversteer. Full throttle, then 360 left turn once you reach a corner, then bring it under control.

3 - RS4 - Cornering on the Stowe circuit.

4 - RS4 - Fast lane change - full throttle then turn to avoid cones, and bring under control.

5 - S5 - Breaking with ABS breaks. Full speed then full brakes once reach cones. and steer to a safe stop.

6 - TT - Racing over the Stowe circuit. No overtaking allowed, but full pelt.

The circuit at full speed was the best session.

We went home with a group photo and a certificate, and an appetite for more. Audi also do ice driving in Finland, and more advanced courses in Germany.
