On holiday for a couple of weeks
So I have just received some light summer reading from Amazon: -
"The Three Musketeers. Preface. In which it is established that, despite their names ending in -OS and -IS, the heroes of the story we shall have the honour of telling our readers are in no way mythological".
"1. If you're walking upstairs with a woman, walk behind her (in case she falls).
2. Walk in front of her when walking down, for the same reason.
3. Regular door: she goes first. Revolving door: you do. "
"It was Hitler's boast that the Third Reich would last a thousand years. Instead it lasted only twelve. But into its short life was packed the most cataclysmic series of events that Western civilisation has ever known."
