Angola Avante*

Angola have qualified for the World Cup, in Germany 2006, for the first time in their history. I will be supporting them, along with England.

I have been to Angola twice, through work, and it is a marvellous place, full of potential. The people are as much Latin, as they are African. Part of their Portuguese heritage.

It is one of the poorest places on earth, and the life expectancy is 38 years. But there is a phrase: "new dawn", which represents the hope of economic development.
