Peter Crouch, England and Liverpool

Peter Crouch changed the recent England v. Argentina game.

Until he came on everything England did was through the middle - Rooney hitting the post, Rooney scoring, Owen's disallowed headed goal, Lampard shots, Gerrard shots.

When Crouch came on, a cross from the right by Gerrard, Owen header 2-2. A cross from the left from Joe Cole, Owen header 3-2. On both crosses Crouch was within 5 yards of Owen, and obviously one of the target men.

I think he is a stylish player.

Crouch has scored 6 goals in 7 games in December. The boo boys know nothing about football. The Everton fans' plan to cause havoc with the Sports Personality of the Year back-fired when Crouch started scoring for Liverpool (they wanted to rig the vote so he gets a 'joke' number of votes). Well tonight Crouch scored against Everton, as Liverpool won for the 9th successive game, conceding 1 goal in 11 games. Everton are right where they belong, battling in the relegation zone. Mediocrities.

How could Liverpool even consider ground sharing with Everton? We will be enjoying great European nights at our ground - be it Anfield or wherever - against Real Madrid and Juventus. Everton, very soon, will be playing against Mansfield and Huddersfield and Wrexham. Sharing a ground with them will have diluted our brand.

As Bill Shankly once said, "There are 2 teams in Liverpool. Liverpool. And Liverpool Reserves".

And he also said, "If Everton were playing in my back garden. I'd draw the curtains."
