Barack O'Bama?

To be sure, Barack Obama's roots are diverse, so they are.

The Illinois senator and presidential hopeful was born in Hawaii to a white American mother and Kenyan father and spent his childhood in Indonesia.

Canon Stephen Neill, rector of Moneygall in central Ireland, says that according to parish records, Obama's great-great-great grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, was among the 1m people who sailed to America in the mid 1800's.

Obama can now claim Irish descent - like Clinton, Kennedy and Reagan did - and it puts him in the company of 30m Irish-American voters. So it does.
